Elvira Truglia
Elvira Truglia: Of Italian Canadian background, Elvira has worked in the non-profit sector for more than 25 years, focusing on policy, communications, education, and program management to advance social inclusion, community development and Human Rights. In parallel, she is a writer and journalist covering the intersections of culture, politics, and social issues. She has written for media outlets like the Huffington Post, Rabble.ca, New Canadian Media, as well as literary magazines and communications journals. Her broadcast work has aired on Canada’s CBC Radio, the U.S.-based social justice radio program, Making Contact, and independent/community media networks, locally and internationally. She is currently the co-host/producer of The Traffic Report, a podcast on human trafficking in Canada. A multimedia storyteller, Elvira’s documentary photos were featured in Points of View, a national Human Rights photography exhibition at the Canadian Museum of Human Rights. Whether writing, working on a media project or advocating for social change, Elvira is humbled by the power of nature and the human spirit.
