Giselle General
Giselle General is a Filipino-Canadian artist who has called Edmonton her home since 2008. Her artistic expression ranges from creative nonfiction such as essays, anthologies, articles and blogs, to upcycled mixed media visual art. Giselle is currently developing her debut memoir, Living on a Cliff’s Edge, that narrates her experiences, from being orphaned as a child to her immigration to Canada. She is also an emerging documentary producer, working on her first local documentary about Edmonton’s Filipino community and their journey to establish a community centre. Her works have been published by CBC’s First Person series, Edmonton Heritage Council's Edmonton City as Museum Project, numerous anthologies documenting Canadian immigrant stories, and the Alberta Filipino Journal as a monthly columnist since 2017.
