Juan Gavasa
Juan Gavasa was born in Jaca (Spain, 1971), and has resided in Toronto since 2011. Journalist, author, editor and entrepreneur with more than 25 years of professional experience, he has worked in radio and print media. In 1996 Gavasa co-founded the communication and design company Pyrenean Multimedia, developing a prolific career in his country of origin. Through his company´s publishing label, he promoted numerous publications, with considerable success in Spain. He is the author, co-author, and coordinator of more than 20 books on travel, children's literature, history, traditions and customs. His last stories appear in the anthologies Historias de Montreal (Ottawa, 2019), La Cola del Cerdo (Ottawa, 2017) and Historias de Toronto (Ottawa, 2016), which was awarded the International Latino Book Award. He is currently working on his first novel, which will be published in Spain. In Toronto, he manages the PanamericanWorld news agency, co-founded the creative content company XQuadra Media in 2016 and is a founding member of the digital magazine Lattin Magazine. He leads storytelling and oral communication workshops for entrepreneurs and students as well.
